If there's anything that can win my heart quicker than a hot chocolate on a Winter's night, its an accessory inspired by a cute furry animal. So when Louis Vuitton sent their interpretation of bunny ear headbands down the runway, I was captivated. Unsurprisingly, the humble headband is in comeback mode for 2009 and 2010; but don't go reaching for your girl-next-door Alice band just yet. This is a specific micro-trend that marries the sexiness of a vintage playboy bunny with the elegance of high fashion. Read on for more on the trend and how to wear it.

Depending on which news source you turn to today swine flu is either behind us or just about to decimate the world's population. Whatever eventuates its influence on the public's psyche is undeniable, and accordingly the fashion industry is jumping onto the bandwagon. Introducing swine flu chic; the one fashion trend we hope you avoid more than double denim.

I love feathers. It's their natural beauty; the compendium of a multitude of hues brought together in vibrant patterns governed by nature... all for attracting a mate. Just think about the grace and style of the peacock and you will see what I mean. Well, the feather trend has been creeping up on catwalks since A/W 08-09, and I think its about time we all took a flight of fancy!

One of the easiest ways to wear the feather trend is as part of headwear. With a choice between a cute array on dainty slides or skinny alice bands with shoots of feathers coming off, it doesn't take a lot of daring to pull it off. Then there's the next step, for the truly fashion obsessed: the headband.
The most defining trend of the 1990s was undoubtedly grunge. And since the 80s revival has reached its peak and is on the steady decline, it's the 90s that are next in turn - grunge naturally included. This neo-grunge takes the ripped denim trend firmly in its stride; and along with it comes another 2009 and 2010 fashion trend: laddered stockings.

Big, bold, jewelry was a trend in 2008 that we recommended investing in early; and true to our prediction, statement jewellery has arisen to a new level of significance for 2009.
Statement Jewellery from Emilio Pucci, Bottega Veneta, Ralph Lauren and Roberto Cavalli.
Ranging from the wild, to the wonderful, to the downright wacky; out-there statement jewelry really made its mark on the 2009 Spring/Summer runways, but don't be dissuaded from wearing this fashion trend for Fall/Winter 2009 either!
Mary-Kate Olsen has been wearing plenty of John Lennon-esque round sunglasses, a sort-of sunlasses trend that hasn't quite made it off the ground (and we're still waiting to see whether it will take flight in 2009).
In this pair, she's pretty much rolled three trends into one: the round shape, the thick plastic frames, and the gradient lens. This large round shape is closer to that of last-years trend however, rather than to the smaller 1970s-style glasses she's worn previously.
Mary-Kate isn't the first to take this look to the streets - the Chanel half-tint sunglasses have also been spotted various times on the likes of Nicole Richie (below).
The Olsen twins are still pushing round John Lennon-esque sunglasses as a sunglasses trend, though we've seen very few other examples of the style. Mary-Kate Olsen looked great in a black and gold kaftan-style dress and black pointed pumps for an appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman.

Sienna Miller was snapped at LAX airport wearing a combination of this year's sunglasses trends: plastic frames and gradient lenses. What do you think - would you vote a yes, or a no?

So being empowered is cool, but how about generating your own power? Late last year one of our Christmas desires was the Logan bag from Noon Solar. It wasn't the prettiest thing in the world but I thought it was pretty cool. Today I stumbled (thanks boing boing) on C'N'C CoSTUME NATIONAL's take on the idea, again it's not an exactly revolutionary design but it's certainly an improvement. Below is the Logan from Noon Solar compared to the new C'N'C bag, and after a jump an interview with it's designer Ennio Capasa.

As far as this year's sunglasses trends go, we haven't seen too much of the tortoiseshell trend on the streets. But one-time 'it' girl Sienna Miller is usually an early adopter of any trend.

Out and about in London with her beau, she wore a Grecian-inspired white dress, sandals, and a pair of tortoiseshell framed sunglasses. The back of the dress also sported an interesting take on the backless trend.
